The Challenge

Increase visibility by investing in SEO. VintageCellars.com allready had a fairly sucessful Ecommerce business but was spending aggressively into Pay Per Click marketing such as Google AdWords to maintain revenue. With a huge slowdown in the luxury goods market in 2009, traffic to wine industry websites were down 30-40%.

The Solution

Make SEO improvements to increase search traffic to key revenue areas. VisiSeek worked with VintageCellars’s to improve the onsite code, and keyword targets. We conducted extensive keyword research to select keyword targets, redesigned the homepage and template, changed onsite copy in select regions and modified code changes to improve how search engines can automatically crawl through the website.

The Result

Search traffic to the website increased 69% in 1 year! VisiSeek helped to gain over 1000 first page ranking on the major search engines. Specific examples include

  • wine cellars up 23.5% – page 1 rank
  • wine storage up 67.32% – page 1 rank
  • wine storage cabinets up 87.98% – page 1 rank
  • wine racks up 51.70% – page 1 rank
  • wine cellar cooling units up 157.79% – page 1 rank

These improvements resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in increased revenue for VintageCellars.com as well as increasing their avg time on site by 8.62% and the avg number of page per visit by 15.96%.
