Why We’re Excited About Google Drive

For those that haven’t heard, last week Google released Drive, the search giant’s new system for cloud storage and computing. Most are familiar with Dropbox as a leader in cloud storage, allowing everyone from CEOs to your grandmother to access shared documents, photos, videos, and files remotely or from the comfort of their own device.

The “cloud” has gotten plenty of exposure in recent years and is seen as the way of the future by which businesses will have remote access to documents and media. What Google Drive brings to the table that other services may lack is both cloud storage and computing. For example, Dropbox offers remote access to files – similar to Drive – but in order to edit or collaborate on files, another program such as Microsoft Word or Powerpoint is necessary to make changes.

Google Drive allows for access to and collaboration on files stored in the cloud. And of course this new feature integrates with the Google accounts and Android devices many are already using.

An innovation like Google Drive is especially important to us because internet marketing demands fast paced collaboration. With Google Docs and now Google Drive, VISISEEK is able to work securely together in real time across the multiple devices and locations.

While we’re fired up about cloud storage and computing, not everyone shares our enthusiasm. Leading the charge against Google’s cloud storage and computing efforts of course is Microsoft. To celebrate their 30 Year Anniversary and recent rebrand, our client Griswold Home Care held a 30th Anniversary Spring Expo in Philadelphia, PA for office owners, corporate staff and vendors. VISISEEK flew out and enjoyed presenting, meeting the corporate office staff (thank you all for having us!) and met office owners from all over the country that are addressing the huge challenge of providing home care for our aging population. We are proud to be working with such a a positive organization that has helped over 80,000 individuals and families across the US!

I had a number of conversations with griswold branch owners about how they got into home care and was struck by how kindhearted and caring the owners of these businesses are. Many got into non-medical home care because they were helping a family member or loved one and went through the home care search themselves. Others got in the business to help people that need their support dealing with specific issues such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, or other disabilities.

At the expo, Griswold announced the Griswold Cares Foundation, which is an organization that supports those in need that cannot afford at home care. I was struck by the generosity in the room when a number of office owners immediately committed to invest in the foundation, supporting those in need. Awesome event — a highlight for me was definitely a dinner at the Camden Aquarium where we ate next to a giant shark tank with tons of 10ft sharks swimming all around us! VISISEEK had a table setup to demo some of the campaigns we are running followed by a great dinner. Check out the photos below — how cool is that venue!
